Job summary

South Texas Spine & Surgical Hospital is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to provide peri-operative patient care under nursing judgment and standards. The role includes supervising staff, supporting Risk Management, Infection Control, and Performance Improvement initiatives, while maintaining HIPAA privacy and Cornerstone education.

The position requires American nursing licensure in Texas, BLS/ACLS, and ICU/ED recovery experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing with current and valid licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS & ACLS required or obtained within 30 days of hire; PALS certification required within 60 days of hire.
• 2 years of nursing experience in ICU/ED/Recovery or other critical care-nursing environment.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to staffing schedules and attendance policies.
• Participates in On-Call rotation for PACU.
• Provides direct patient care and supervises ancillary personnel in pre/post-operative areas.
• Maintains patient care quality and safety per standards and policy.
• Participates in orientation and competency programs; supports department meetings.
• Engages in performance improvement and cost containment initiatives.
