Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at St. Francis Downtown. The role focuses on delivering high-quality perioperative nursing care across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, collaboration with the care team, and ensuring a safe operating room environment. Relevant RN licensure and BLS are required; ACLS/PALS and CNOR are preferred where applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Current state RN licensure is required.
• BLS Basic Life Support; ACLS or PALS preferred (must obtain if not current, within 6 months depending on department).
• CNOR certification and SGNA membership are preferred but not required.
• Two years of RN experience in Critical Care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment.
• Observe the surgery and assist to maintain a safe environment for the patient.
• Coordinate nursing care within the OR and with other care providers.
• Provide pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care including discharge instructions.
