Job summary

Cool Springs Surgery Center in Franklin, TN is seeking an RN PACU to perform immediate post-anesthesia care. You will assess patients, document findings, and coordinate with surgeons and anesthesia teams while supervising support staff.

The role includes developing a care plan based on assessments, monitoring for changes, and providing comfort and discharge instructions. Strong multitasking and teamwork in a fast-paced PACU are essential.

Qualifications

• RN with active license in appropriate state.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• One (1) year experience in PACU or ICU.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Organizes time, equipment, and supplies.
• Assesses and documents patient status in PACU.
• Provides nursing care based on anesthesia and surgery.
• Supervises Patient Care Technicians, CNAs, MAs and LPNs as appropriate.
• Communicates patient status to surgeon, physicians and anesthesia providers.
• Takes part in discharge instructions and medication reconciliation.
• Manages inventory in the postoperative area.

Education
