Job summary

Cool Springs Surgery Center in Franklin, TN is seeking a Preop Recovery Nurse to assist in nursing care within an Ambulatory Surgical Center. You will work under the PACU Manager to provide peri-operative patient care following physician orders and center policies.

The role requires at least two years in a critical care setting, an active nursing license, and the ability to obtain CPR/ACLS/PALS within 60 days. Benefits include health and retirement plans, PTO, and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for employment in the U.S.
• Graduate of approved nursing program with current nursing licensure
• Minimum of two years in ICU/ED/Recovery or other critical care setting
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards
• Ability to obtain CPR/ACLS/PALS within 60 days
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others
• Strong English verbal and written communication for safe patient care
• Willingness to participate in ongoing education and professional development
• Minimum one year in pre-operative, intra-operative or post-operative surgical care

Responsibilities

• Shows appropriate delegation while directing and supervising ancillary personnel in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating patient care in pre/post-operative areas
• Provides direct patient care in the assigned clinical areas and demonstrates clinical competence
• Participates in service recovery and communicates progress to patients and family
• Reviews daily schedule and prepares patient care areas according to procedures and needs
• Communicates status changes to physicians, family and staff
• Initiates pre-operative assessment and care plans, and obtains informed consent
• Completes pre-operative interviews and notifies physicians of variances
• Completes post-anesthesia record and ensures discharge criteria are met with post-op instructions
• Contributes to NSH benchmarking and delivery of quality clinical care
