Job summary

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in St. Louis, MO seeks a peri-anesthesia RN to provide direct patient care in pre- and post-anesthesia settings. Position is at the BJWCH Ballas Surgery Center, with a 4-day schedule from 09:30 to 19:00 and no on-call, weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities include comprehensive nursing assessment, care planning, and family education within an interprofessional team, in a safety‑mocused environment. RN license required.

Qualifications

• PACU experience preferred.
• ICU, ED or Critical Care RN experience needed.
• BLS, ACLS or PALS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation according to nursing standards.
• Promotes patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; participates in professional development.
• Develops and documents plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs per standards of care.
• Safety-sensitive position requiring vigilance and safe practice.
