Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care PACU. This 90-bed unit operates on 3/12 hour shifts with Saturday and Sunday coverage and a weekday, plus 24 hours of call every six weeks.

Shifts run roughly 0700–1930 or 0800–2030, offering exposure to high-acuity cases and advanced anesthesia recovery. The RN role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care, with opportunities for career ladder advancement within BJC.

Qualifications

• Nurse RN license required.
• Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on managing illness, post-treatment home care and medications.
• Develops, implements and documents care plans in coordination with the interprofessional team.
• Uses clinical nursing skills to assess and address physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
• Maintain safety as a core function in a safety-sensitive position.
