Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PACU to provide high-quality post-anesthesia care. This PRN/Per Diem role requires nursing assessment, plan development, and collaboration with physicians and families to ensure safe patient outcomes in a fast-paced post-anesthesia setting.

The ideal candidate will have a nursing degree, Texas RN license, ACLS/BLS, and a BSN preferred; prior PACU/ED/ICU experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with completion of an approved nursing program.
• Current Texas RN license required; ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Compact state licensure (NLC) eligible in Texas or compact state.
• BSN preferred; hospital/ PACU experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments across age groups.
• Develop and execute individualized care plans with the health team.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and families; ensure timely documentation.
• Prioritize interventions based on assessment and changes in condition.
• Ensure adherence to policies, standards, and evidence-based practice.
