Job summary

Virginia Eye Consultants in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pre-Op, Post-Op and PACU with a four 10-hour shift schedule. Pay ranges $36–40 per hour, DOE. Shifts start at 0600 or 0630 with no evenings, weekends, or on-call requirements.

The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, maintaining a safe environment and ensuring HIPAA compliance. Applicants should be licensed in VA and have strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct patient care in an operating room setting.
• Ensure proper techniques and practices are used according to standards.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations and patient rights.
• Perform duties ethically and legally within licensure.
• Supervise other personnel in the room and assist as necessary.
• Report unusual occurrences to charge personnel and document in patient records.
• Coordinate, communicate and ensure continuity of patient care.
• Assess, prioritize, plan and implement patient care efficiently.
• Maintain accurate and legible medical records.
• Participate in continuing education/in-service training and QA programs.
• Follow physician orders and management directions.
• Contribute to a healthy work environment.
• Assist in training new staff.
• Balance team and individual responsibilities.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure smooth operations.
