Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Pre/Post PACU RN to deliver high-quality perioperative care across multiple outpatient surgical settings in Charlottesville. You will manage pre-operative readiness and post-anesthesia recovery, collaborating with anesthesia, surgeons, and the perioperative team to ensure safe discharge and optimal patient outcomes.

The role offers 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts, no nights, weekends, or holidays, and a shared governance model that supports nursing autonomy and professional

Qualifications

• Education: BSN is required within 5 years of hire.
• Licensed RN in Virginia with current BLS certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative assessments and patient education.
• Manage Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery across multiple sites.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons and interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure safe discharge planning and patient readiness for outpatient recovery.
• Maintain high standards for patient experience, quality and safety metrics.
