Job summary

Lifepoint Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Recovery/PACU in Somerset, Kentucky. The role runs 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, full time, with call rotation.

You will deliver direct and indirect patient care in the PACU, using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care while communicating changes to the surgical team. Requirements include an RN license in Kentucky, an Associate's Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), BLS; ACLS and PALS within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; current RN license in state of practice or active license accepted in lieu of degree.
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire (PALS not required for Pain Clinic RNs).
• Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred; relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct and indirect patient care in PACU.
• Performs focused assessments and reassessments based on patient condition.
• Manages pain with appropriate techniques and medications.
• Assists physicians with procedures and supports post-anesthesia care.
• Ensures patient safety and correct administration of medications.
• Educates patients and families on recovery expectations.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
