Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Recovery/PACU to cover 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. full-time shifts with call rotation. The role involves direct and indirect patient care in PACU, implementing the nursing process, and collaborating with the surgical team in Somerset, Kentucky.

The RN must hold an active Kentucky license, be BLS certified, and obtain ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire. Experience in PACU and perioperative care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; RN licensure accepted in lieu of degree.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform focused patient assessments and reassessments based on condition, procedures, medications, and treatments.
• Administer medications following the six rights to minimize errors.
• Assist physicians with procedures and provide technical care as needed.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes and recovery expectations.
• Maintain patient safety and provide care within licensure scope and environment that minimizes errors.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and continuing education.
