Job summary

Illinois Bone and Joint Institute is seeking a dedicated PACU RN to provide post-anesthesia care and recovery services. You will assess patients, plan and implement care in collaboration with the perioperative team, and document outcomes.

Responsibilities include admission/discharge support, patient education, and adherence to safety protocols. Requirements include a current Illinois RN license, BLS/ALS certifications, and a BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program is required.
• Illinois Registered Nurse license and BLS/ALS certifications required.
• BSN preferred; ambulatory surgery center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide PACU/Recovery nursing care in the postoperative period.
• Assess patient status, plan and implement care with the perioperative team.
• Document care clearly and communicate with patients, families and staff.
• Assist with admission, discharge, and education of patients and caregivers.
• Maintain safety, administer medications, and respond to emergencies per policy.
• Participate in quality improvement and clinical leadership activities.
