Job summary

Western Carolina Surgery Center is seeking a Full-Time PACU RN to provide continuity of nursing care for patients emerging from anesthesia. The role includes ongoing assessment, planning, and ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy while coordinating discharge preparation.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited RN education, NC license, BLS/ACLS, and PACU or critical care experience. The center emphasizes a collaborative, patient-focused environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patients and families in preparation for discharge.
• Monitor patient condition with continual evaluation to ensure safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques when appropriate.
