Job summary

Southpoint Surgery Center is seeking an experienced registered nurse for the PACU, providing comprehensive perioperative care from recovery through discharge. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, while collaborating with the care team to ensure patient safety and timely recovery.

Under minimal supervision, you will support quality outcomes, document care, and participate in ongoing improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; license to practice in NC.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS/PALS to be obtained within 6 months (preferred on hire).
• Minimum 1 year perioperative nursing experience; critical care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, safe nursing care across age groups per policy and standards.
• Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Direct and supervise team members; assist manager in decisions affecting PACU.
• Coordinate discharge planning with care team and ensure smooth transitions.
• Document patient care accurately and participate in performance improvement.
