Western Carolina Surgery Center, an AAACH-accredited ambulatory surgery center, seeks a full-time PreOp PACU RN to join a collaborative team delivering high-quality outpatient care. The role emphasizes patient assessment, education, medication administration, infection control, IV management, and strong teamwork with surgeons and anesthesiologists.

In this position, you will monitor patients in PACU, advocate for comfort and safety, manage postoperative meds, and contribute to discharge planning

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN school.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• Two years of PACU or critical care experience preferred.
• Ability to make nursing-judgment based decisions.
• Strong prioritization and organization for patient care.

Responsabilités

• Preoperative duties: assess patients, educate families, administer meds as ordered.
• Ensure infection control and maintain IV lines as needed.
• Collaborate with surgical team, anesthesiologists, and staff.
• Postoperative duties: monitor PACU patients and manage pain meds.
• Document care and plan discharge instructions with teams.
• Perform circulating or scrub roles to support procedures.
