Job summary

Incredible Health in Chicago, IL is recruiting a PACU RN to provide postoperative care for diverse surgical patients. You will monitor vitals, manage anesthesia-related symptoms, administer medications, and coordinate handoffs from the operating room to PACU to discharge.

The role requires ADN or higher, an active RN license, and BLS/ACLS certification, with at least 1 year in PACU/ICU. Strong teamwork, EMR proficiency, and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team.
• Proficient in electronic medical record systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate post-operative care to a variety of surgical patients; monitor vitals and symptoms.
• Administer prescribed medications and implement treatment plans.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure smooth patient transitions from OR to PACU and discharge.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, pain management, wound care, and potential complications.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree (ADN) or above in nursing

• 1 year experience in a PACU, ICU, or a similar high-acuity setting preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications from the American Heart Association
