Job summary

Surgery Center of Plano, part of HCA Healthcare, is hiring a PACU Nurse to deliver post-anesthesia care in our ambulatory surgery setting. You will monitor patients, manage airway and IV access, and collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe discharge.

We seek a qualified RN with 1+ year PACU/ICU/surgery experience, BCLS/ACLS (PALS if required), and a commitment to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment.
• Certification in BCLS required at start of employment.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• PALS may be required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare care area with equipment and supplies for PACU patients.
• Demonstrate airway management techniques and monitor patients postoperatively.
• Monitor vital signs and patient status according to policy.
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks as needed.
• Perform head-to-toe patient assessments using approved scoring systems.
• Check dressings and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Provide a safe, comforting environment and ensure discharge criteria are met.
