Job summary

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking Post-Anesthesia Care Unit nurses to provide pre- and post-operative care in a busy PACU. The unit supports a wide range of surgical services and operates with 24/7 coverage and on-call requirements.

Ideal candidates will hold CT RN licensure, with ICU experience preferred. BSN is desirable; BLS is required, and ACLS is necessary for external candidates. The team emphasizes collaboration and adherence to ASPAN guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• ICU experience preferred; ED/step-down/floor-level experience considered on an individual basis
• BLS certification required prior to date of hire
• ACLS required for external candidates

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-operative care in PACU
• Initiate IVs, administer medications, educate patients, and document appropriately
• Care for a variety of surgical services in a 10-bed PACU on a 24/7 schedule with on-call requirements
