Job summary

Shrewsbury Surgery Center in New Jersey is seeking a full-time PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN). The PACU RN will provide continuous and high-quality nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians in procedure rooms and coordinating post-anesthesia care. Requirements include graduation from an accredited RN program, active NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS (PALS if required), and 2 years PACU/CCU experience

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in New Jersey.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• Two years' PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Strong communication and nursing judgment to prioritize patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients from PACU.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care during emergence from anesthesia.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation and sterile techniques.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort and privacy at all times.
• Prepare patients and families for discharge.
