Job summary

Pediatric Surgery Center of Odessa is hiring a PACU Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients. The role emphasizes patient safety, comfort, and privacy, with ongoing evaluation of recovery progress and preparation for discharge.

The PACU RN will work closely with physicians and care teams to maintain a calm, child-friendly environment and ensure families are supported throughout the recovery process.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition.
• Assist physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as deemed appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
