Job summary

Pediatric Surgery Center of Odessa is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuous nursing care for pediatric patients emerging from anesthesia. You will monitor patient status, ensure safety and privacy, and support the care team in the PACU.

The role requires RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and preferred PACU or critical care experience. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for coordinating patient care and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• RN degree and active state license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS if center requires it.
• Experience in PACU or critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care; continual patient condition evaluation.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, sedation, and sterile technique.
• Deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation and prepare for discharge.

PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) at Pediatric Surgery Center of Odessa

The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
