Job summary

Pediatric Surgery Center of Odessa, part of United Surgical Partners International (USPI), is hiring a PACU Registered Nurse. The RN provides continuity and quality care for patients emerging from anesthesia, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy while supporting perioperative teams.

Requirements include Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS (PALS if required), graduate from an accredited RN program, and 2 years PACU/CCU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in the state of Florida.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS if required by center.
• 2 years PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients emerging from general anesthesia or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient and family needs for discharge readiness.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Maintain patient safety, privacy, and comfort at all times.

PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) at Pediatric Surgery Center of Odessa

The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
