Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a dedicated Recovery Room Nurse for West Jefferson Medical Center in Louisiana. In PACU, you’ll monitor patients emerging from anesthesia, manage pain, vitals, and breathing, and coordinate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth transition to the next care phase.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana (RN).
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications.
• BSN preferred.
• 1 year in a related clinical area.
• Certified Critical Care Nurse or Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Monitor post-operative patients emerging from anesthesia, assessing pain, vitals, and oxygenation.
• Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure safe recovery and transfer.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and home instructions.
• Document clinical assessments and interventions accurately.
• Respond to post-operative complications and perform CPR or emergency measures if needed.
• Maintain a safe environment and ensure continuity of care.
