Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Recovery Room Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Critical Unit (PACU) team in Louisiana. You will monitor patients emerging from anesthesia, manage pain, monitor vitals, and coordinate care with the surgical team to ensure safe transitions to the floor or discharge home.

You bring an active Louisiana nursing license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, plus 2 years of RN experience in a related clinical area.

Qualifications

Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
Current ACLS and PALS certifications.
2 years flex RN experience.

Responsibilities

Organize, prioritize, and coordinate post-operative patient care including lines, tubes, drains, pain, and positioning.
Educate and prepare patients and families on home care after discharge.
Perform required clinical documentation and post-operative assessments.
Monitor postoperative patients for pain, complications, and infection around the surgical site.
Respond to emergencies with CPR or other measures when required.
Collaborate with the surgical team to meet patient care needs promptly and safely.
Maintain a safe environment and ensure continuity of care and clear communications.
