Job summary

Omega Hospital in Metairie, LA is seeking a dedicated PACU Registered Nurse to provide specialized care for patients recovering from anesthesia. You will monitor respiratory status, manage pain, administer medications, and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure safe recovery and timely discharge.

Requirements include an active RN license, ADN required with BSN preferred, BLS; ACLS and PALS to be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Louisiana or Compact.
• Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience, preferably in PACU, pre-op, or surgical settings.
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ADN required; BSN preferred).
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS required or must obtain within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia; assess respiratory status, airway patency, neurological status, pain, vital signs.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and pain management therapies; monitor response.
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers regarding patient status and discharge readiness.
• Complete nursing assessments, documentation, and patient safety within the electronic health record.
