Job summary

Northern Utah Surgicenter, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Perioperative Nurse to support our ambulatory surgery center in Utah. You will plan, execute, and evaluate nursing care preoperatively and postoperatively until discharge, upholding our standard of family-like patient care.

The role emphasizes preop/postop nursing practice, IV therapy, medication administration, and ensuring discharge readiness within a fast-paced center environment.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher required.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in PACU/ICU/Surgery.
• Active RN license per state of employment.
• BCLS Certification upon employment (online not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare care area before case.
• Ensure equipment and supplies available for procedures.
• Conduct physical and history assessment of patients.
• Administer pre-operative medications and IV therapy.
• Insert and manage IV catheters and saline locks.
• Check dressings and operative site; report abnormalities.
• Ensure discharge criteria are met.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Join our team as a Perioperative Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively and postoperatively until your patients are discharged. What you will do in this role:

• Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before case
• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure
• Conduct complete physical, and psychological assessment and evaluation of your patients’ history and diagnostic tests
• Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed
• You will exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks
• Check dressings and/or operative site of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon
• Ensure your patients meet discharge criteria

Qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery
• Active RN license as required by state of employment
• BCLS Certification upon employment. ***online certification not acceptable
• ACLS required within 30-days of hire
• PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire
