Job summary

Lee's Summit Surgicenter, part of the HCA Healthcare family, is seeking a Perioperative Nurse for PRN opportunities. You will plan, execute, and evaluate nursing care preoperatively and postoperatively until discharge in an ambulatory surgery setting.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, administering pre-operative meds, IV management, and ensuring discharge criteria are met. Requires RN licensure, BCLS, and ACLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing required.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably PACU/ICU or Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS Certification required at employment (online not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure.
• Conduct complete physical and psychological assessment and evaluation of patient history and diagnostic tests.
• Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed.
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks as required.
• Check dressings and/or operative site and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.

Join our team as a Perioperative Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively and postoperatively until your patients are discharged. What you will do in this role:

• You will exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks
• Check dressings and/or operative site of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon
• Ensure your patients meet discharge criteria

Qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery
• Active RN license as required by state of employment
• BCLS Certification upon employment. ***online certification not acceptable
