Job summary

Lee’s Summit Surgicenter, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Perioperative Nurse to join our ambulatory surgery center. You will plan, execute, and evaluate preoperative and postoperative nursing care until discharge, aligning with our Surgery Ventures values.

Responsibilities include preparing care areas, ensuring equipment, performing physical and history assessments, administering pre-op meds, IV therapy, IV catheter care, dressing checks, and discharge readiness.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or RN Diploma or higher required.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably PACU/ICU or Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS certification required upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients’ care area before case and ensure necessary equipment and supplies.
• Conduct complete physical and psychological assessment and review of history and tests.
• Administer pre-operative medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
• Maintain IV access and manage catheters, dressings, and sites per protocol.
• Confirm discharge criteria and readiness for discharge.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Join our team as a Perioperative Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively and postoperatively until your patients are discharged. What you will do in this role:

• Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before case

• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure

• Conduct complete physical, and psychological assessment and evaluation of your patients’ history and diagnostic tests

• Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed

• You will exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks

• Check dressings and/or operative site of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon

• Ensure your patients meet discharge criteria

Qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required

• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery

• Active RN license as required by state of employment

• BCLS Certification upon employment. ***online certification not acceptable

• ACLS required within 30-days of hire

• PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire
