Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Preop/Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Per diem with day or night shifts, primarily days. BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Ideal candidates will have PACU, ED or ICU experience and demonstrate teamwork and excellent communication. This role provides competent nursing care in a hospital setting, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director and coordinating patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs and attend education programs.
• Evaluation of care: discuss plan with interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes.
• Implementation: provide competent care for complex patients and coordinate with resources.
• Leadership: set goals and promote collaboration and cost-effective care.
• Patient assessment: determine priorities and anticipate discharge needs.
• Planning: collaborate on updated plans of care with multidisciplinary team.
• Research: stay current with journals and discuss applicability.
