Job summary

Phoenix Children’s is seeking a part-time nurse for the Pre and Post-Op unit at the Thomas location in Phoenix. The role supports care of patients in PACU with ongoing monitoring and post-anesthesia recovery, including teaching and discharge instructions after Phase II recovery. Shifts are 10 PM to 6:30 AM, two 10‑hour shifts per week.

Prior PACU/Pre-op experience is preferred; new grads not eligible. The role collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver patient-centered nursing care aligned

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year PACU/Pre-op experience preferred.
• Not accepting new grads.
• Night shift 10pm–6:30am; 2 shifts per week; requires flexibility with schedule.

Responsibilities

• Complete nursing assessment appropriate to patient age and condition.
• Monitor patient progress and document in charts; communicate with care team and families.
• Ensure medication accuracy, storage, and documentation per policy.
• Provide unit orientation and guidance to students and new staff.
• Collaborate with care team to develop and implement care plans; participate in rounds.
