Job summary

Sovereign Health System is seeking a dedicated PACU Nurse to provide immediate postoperative care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. You will monitor vitals, manage pain, and collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgeons to stabilize patients for transfer or discharge.

The role requires RN licensure in New Jersey, BLS and ACLS certifications, and perioperative or critical care experience. Join a team prioritizing patient safety and rapid, compassionate recovery.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in New Jersey.
• Accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs, airway status, and consciousness continuously in the immediate postoperative period.
• Administer medications and pain management as prescribed; adjust care plans as needed.
• Assess and manage postoperative complications (respiratory distress, bleeding, nausea, pain).
• Document patient status and progress in medical records accurately and promptly.
• Communicate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and family about patient condition and plans.
• Prepare patients for transfer to inpatient units or discharge and educate patients and families." postoperative care.
• Maintain a safe, clean PACU environment with infection control and safety protocols.
