Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the ASC 38th St PACU on the Night Shift (37.5 hours). The role supports nurses in patient care, ensures safety of supplies and environment, and assists in data collection for quality programs.

The position requires a PCT program or CNA background with CPR/BLS certification, plus related hospital experience; successful completion of the PCT program within 3 months of hire is expected.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience, OR CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy course and PCT cert eligible plus 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS/CPR certification required on entry to position; must complete PCT online program within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional nurse in patient care and family support.
• Maintain supplies, equipment and environment safety.
• Participate in unit quality improvement data collection and action plans.
• Communicate with patients, families and staff with clear, respectful communication.
