Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Mineola seeks a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the Main PACU. This full-time evening role assists the professional nurse, supports patient care tasks, and contributes to a safe, compassionate environment.

You will work within NYU Langone Health's core values, provide care across diverse ages and cultures, participate in unit safety and quality activities, and help with admissions, transfers and discharge procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• PCT program graduate or CNA with EKG/Phlebotomy training and PCT cert eligible plus 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA) required on entry to the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in patient care tasks and support safety of supplies and environment.
• Contribute to unit data collection for Quality and Performance Improvement and patient satisfaction.
• Communicate with patients and families with empathy and professional responsibility.
• Participate in orientation, unit meetings, and mandatory education.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge procedures as needed.
