Job summary

Northwest-Health-Porte is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process. You will coordinate with physicians and the healthcare team to plan and execute care, document assessments, and educate patients and families.

Responsibilities include administering medications, responding to emergencies, adhering to infection control, and contributing to quality improvement while maintaining a compassionate environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student rotations in acute care.
• RN licensure required; BCLS certification required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of nursing process and patient safety standards.
• Ability to document accurately and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care per nursing process and policies.
• Assess patients thoroughly and report changes to care team.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency scope.
• Develop and evaluate individualized care plans with the team.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR/code team activities.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and post-discharge care.
• Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent infections.
• Monitor medical equipment (IV pumps, monitors, ventilators).
• Document care promptly in the medical record and chart reviews.
• Support safety goals and maintain a clean care environment.
• Participate in performance improvement and audits.
• Demonstrate responsible decision-making and accountability.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies.
