Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a PACU Nurse at Central Park Surgery Center in Austin to provide postoperative care and ensure safe, effective recovery for patients.

You will work within a collaborative team, manage airway, monitor vitals, insert IVs, assess patients, and help discharge patients according to policies. The role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth within a nationally recognized health system.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher
• 1+ year nursing experience in PACU/ICU/Surgery
• Active RN license for state of employment
• BCLS certification upon employment; online certification not acceptable
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days

Responsibilities

• Prepare care area and ensure equipment and supplies are provided
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques
• Monitor patients per policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.)
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks
• Perform head-to-toe evaluation using approved scoring system
• Check dressings or operative site and report abnormalities
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and families
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria
