Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum prior nursing experience; perioperative/ICU/EM preferred.
• Current NC RN license or eligible for licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe preoperative and postoperative nursing care.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and pre-op preparation.
• Monitor physiological stability, pain control, airway management, and post-anesthesia status.
• Administer medications per provider orders and policies.
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and care team to optimize outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and discharge.
• Document accurately in the EMR.
• Flex between DSU and PACU to support patient flow and staffing.
• Participate in on-call rotation with 40-minute response time.
