Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Mandatory Reporter training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers nursing care to patients; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan with physician coordination.
• Provides nursing care guided by physician orders, unit protocols, and professional judgment.
• Communicates effectively with staff, physicians, patients, families and health team members.
• Participates in ongoing educational activities related to clinical knowledge and professional issues.
• Delivers care with respect for patient autonomy, dignity and rights.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup and use (IV pumps, monitoring, drainage devices).
• Initiates emergency measures as needed and adheres to regulations and policies.
