Qualifications

• Associates Of Science in Nursing is required.
• Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or Charge Nurse Experience.
• Registered Nurse (RN:AZ) certification is required.
• American Heart Association - Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Mentors others in competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and inservice education.
• Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet patient and department needs.
• Evaluates care given by staff; coaches to improve care; ensures standard of care; prepares work schedules; assigns personnel; coordinates ethical dilemma processes when needed.
• Coordinates patient flow on the unit to enable timely and effective care.
• Demonstrates prioritization and critical thinking in high-pressure situations.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess patients’ physical, emotional, spiritual, and learning needs.
