Job summary

The Assistant Director, Partners Achieving Community Transformation (PACT) at Ohio State University leads the end-to-end development of neighborhood revitalization initiatives on Columbus Near East Side, reporting to the Executive Director.

This senior role blends strategic planning, program operations, and cross‑functional collaboration to execute projects, supervise consultants and interns, track KPIs, and communicate progress to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 6 years of relevant experience required.
• 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience in community development or neighborhood revitalization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of program and project development from concept through implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Supervise project consultants and interns and manage detailed work plans.
• Establish key performance indicators and prepare clear, timely updates and reports for stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and partners to align strategy with operations and resources.
• Translate complex ideas for diverse audiences and build strong relationships with internal and external partners.

Overview

The Assistant Director, Partners Achieving Community Transformation (PACT), plays a pivotal role in driving the multifaceted effort to revitalize a historic neighborhood and enhance the quality of life for those who live, work, worship, and travel within Columbus' Near East Side. Reporting to the Executive Director, this senior-level role brings specialized expertise in strategic planning, business operations, and project execution to ensure programs and initiatives are thoughtfully designed, effectively implemented, and consistently aligned with PACT's priorities and long-term community transformation goals. The Assistant Director leads the full lifecycle of program and project development from concept formulation through implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement. This includes supervising project consultants and interns, developing and managing detailed work plans, establishing key performance indicators, and preparing clear, timely updates and reports for both internal and external stakeholders. The role requires strong analytical thinking, program management capability, and the ability to translate complex ideas for an array of audiences. The Assistant Director collaborates with and provides consultative support to a broad range of partners, requiring exceptional influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. As a specialized individual contributor, the Assistant Director aligns strategy with operational resources, drives cross-functional coordination, and contributes to long-term organizational and community vitality.

Minimum Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 6 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
