The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Assistant Director for the Partners Achieving Community Transformation (PACT) initiative on Columbus' Near East Side. The Assistant Director, Partners Achieving Community Transformation (PACT), plays a pivotal role in driving the multifaceted effort to revitalize a historic neighborhood and enhance the quality of life for those who live, work, worship, and travel within Columbus’ Near East Side. Reporting to the Executive Director, this senior-level role brings specialized expertise in strategic planning, business operations, and project execution to ensure programs and initiatives are thoughtfully designed, effectively implemented, and consistently aligned with PACT’s priorities and long-term community transformation goals.
The Assistant Director leads the full lifecycle of program and project development from concept formulation through implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement. This includes supervising project consultants and interns, developing and managing detailed work plans, establishing key performance indicators, and preparing clear, timely updates and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
The role requires strong analytical thinking, program management capability, and the ability to translate complex ideas for an array of audiences. The Assistant Director collaborates with and provides consultative support to a broad range of partners, requiring exceptional influencing, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills. As a specialized individual contributor, the Assistant Director aligns strategy with operational resources, drives cross-functional coordination, and contributes to long-term organizational and community vitality.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 6 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
