Job summary

Real Radiology, LLC, a physician-owned teleradiology company, seeks a PACS Administrator to manage and optimize the PACS and related imaging systems across a high-volume environment. You will work with clients, operations, and IT to ensure reliable image delivery, storage, and access, while supporting HL7 and DICOM interfaces and integrations.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with PACS administration, HL7/DICOM integrations, Mirth Connect or similar engines, and healthcare networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or healthcare informatics or related field
• 3–5 years PACS administration experience in hospital or imaging center/teleradiology
• Experience with HL7 interfaces and Mirth Connect preferred
• Experience with DICOM imaging workflows and enterprise networking

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize PACS and imaging infrastructure.
• Monitor performance, storage utilization, and data integrity.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, security groups, and access controls.
• Coordinate software upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
• Perform system testing and validation after upgrades and configuration changes.
• Develop and maintain PACS documentation and workflows.
• Administer and support healthcare integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect).
• Build and troubleshoot HL7 interfaces between client systems, RIS, EMR/EHR, and PACS.
• Support DICOM connectivity, routing, and modality worklists.
• Investigate and resolve integration failures and workflow interruptions.
• Collaborate with clients and vendors during interface implementations and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity impacting imaging workflows.
• Provide Tier II/III support and on-call rotation for a 24/7 operation.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and security policies.
• Lead or participate in PACS implementation and migration projects.
