Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an Imaging Systems Administrator to ensure optimal performance of imaging systems and interfaces (PACS, RIS, EMR) within the healthcare network. The role includes project management support, vendor relations, and workflow improvements to support clinical operations.

The candidate will help manage data integrity, comply with DICOM/HL7 standards, and participate in deployment and maintenance of imaging technologies across the system.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with PACS, RIS and EMR systems.
• Strong understanding of DICOM and HL7 standards.
• Familiarity with network configurations, transmission protocols, and server management.
• Experience with hardware/software installation, upgrades and maintenance.
• Ability to retrieve data for performance indicators.

Responsibilities

• Ensures optimal environment for viewing and interpretation of medical images and manages interfaces to EMR, RIS, PACS and voice recognition systems.
• Participates in full system development lifecycle; creates and maintains project deliverables (vision documents, specs, tests, training materials).
• Manages project requirements to ensure on-time delivery within scope and budget; assists with budgeting and resource planning.
• Assists with vendor management for imaging applications and systems; learns new skills (DICOM/HL7, transmission protocols, networking).
• Ensures QA/compliance with standards and approvals; conducts testing plans, scenarios, and defect management; supports post-implementation activities.
