The PACS Administrator serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert for PACS/RIS and
imaging applications at Island Health. This role is responsible for the operation, configuration,
maintenance, troubleshooting, integration, security, and optimization of imaging systems to
support reliable clinical workflows and 24/7 system availability.
This position partners closely with Diagnostic Imaging, Information Systems, vendors, providers,
and other clinical stakeholders to support imaging system performance, modality integration, user
access, training, compliance, and continuous improvement. The role does not have direct
supervisory responsibility but provides technical guidance, coordination, and support across
departments.

Salary Range: $85,592. - $128,398 annually
1. Maintains PACS/RIS and related imaging applications to ensure system uptime,
availability, and reliable day-to-day operations.
2. Monitors system queues, backups, study flow, image routing, and system performance to
identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
3. Troubleshoots studies, reports, interfaces, and system errors impacting imaging workflows,
clinical access, or data integrity.
4. Maintains PACS workstations and related imaging equipment in collaboration with
Information Systems, Diagnostic Imaging, vendors, and other support teams.
5. Provides 24/7 on-call support as part of a scheduled rotation and escalates critical system
issues through appropriate channels.
