Mt. Olive Pickle Co., Inc. is seeking a staff assistant to help oversee packing lines, assist in staffing machine lines, and relay instructions from the Packing Supervisor.

The role involves schedule assignment, attendance tracking, and basic clerical duties in a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities include ensuring safety compliance, coordinating with HR and other timekeepers, and supporting other departments with staffing tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training encouraged.
• Competency with personal computer and basic software applications.
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills required; English reading/writing skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee packing lines and ancillary activities under Packing Supervisor.
• Assist in determining proper staffing of machine lines.
• Assign work schedules to department employees and adjust staffing as needed.
• Track attendance and code data using time and attendance reports; report issues to Supervisor.
• Prepare staffing worksheets based on scheduled employees.
• Follow safety rules and company policies; maintain clean work area.
• Relate instructions from Packing Supervisor to department staff and coordinate with HR/timekeepers.
• Assist other departments with timekeeping/staffing tasks as needed.
• Participate in training, meetings, committees and project teams as appropriate.
• Train new employees and assist with clerical duties as directed.
