Job Title: Packet Core Engineer Deployment & Integration

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Packet Core Engineer to support the deployment, integration, configuration, and verification of packet core network functions, including CMM/CMG and AMF. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in 5G Core network architecture, network function instantiation, and end-to-end integration and testing.

The role involves working closely with Packet Core Design and Solution Architecture (SA) subject matter experts to implement network solutions, execute deployment procedures, and ensure network readiness and operational stability. Candidates must be comfortable working during scheduled maintenance windows to support new network function introductions and greenfield deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the instantiation, deployment, configuration, and integration of packet core network functions, including CMM/CMG and AMF.
• Perform horizontal and vertical integration of network functions and validate end-to-end network connectivity and functionality.
• Collaborate with Packet Core Design and Solution Architecture SMEs to verify and implement overall network solutions.
• Execute deployments using established Methods of Procedure (MOPs) developed during FOA/FSA activities or support new greenfield deployments.
• Perform horizontal, vertical, and end-to-end verification testing to ensure network functionality and performance.
• Conduct network health checks, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), and post-deployment validation.
• Troubleshoot deployment, integration, configuration, and interoperability issues; perform root cause analysis and coordinate resolution.
• Support the introduction of new network functions during scheduled maintenance windows.
• Ensure deployments comply with technical specifications, implementation guidelines, and operational requirements.
• Document deployment activities, test results, identified issues, and corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience in packet core network deployment, integration, and verification.
• Hands-on expertise in one or more packet core network functions, preferably AMF, CMM, or CMG.
• Knowledge of 4G LTE EPC and/or 5G Core network architecture and associated network functions.
• Experience with network function instantiation, configuration, integration, and deployment in telecom environments.
• Experience executing MOPs, greenfield deployments, and network upgrade or expansion activities.
• Strong understanding of horizontal integration, vertical integration, end-to-end verification, network health checks, and ATP testing.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and work with design, architecture, and operations teams.
• Willingness to work during planned maintenance windows, including off-hours when required.
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with telecom vendor packet core solutions and cloud-native network functions (CNFs) or virtualized network functions (VNFs).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerized deployments, Linux, and cloud infrastructure supporting telecom networks.
• Experience with 5G Standalone (SA) core deployments and service-based architecture.
• Previous experience in Professional Services, network rollout, deployment, or system integration projects.
• Experience supporting telecom operators in the USA or Canada.
