Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Packaging Operator in Alsip, IL to remove finished product from machines, inspect quality, and ensure packaging meets work orders. You will read specifications, start up and change over equipment, and perform routine quality checks.

Ideal candidates can read a tape measure, weigh products, lift up to 30 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment. GMPs and accurate paperwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Must know how to read and use a tape measure and weigh scale.
  • Able to lift 30 pounds.
  • Must have manual dexterity.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read work order for product specifications and any special instructions concerning packaging, special skids, cartons, cradles, banding requirements, and samples.
  • Inspects products for customer requirements and any defects.
  • Assists in start-up and change over of machinery or orders.
  • Performs all required quality checks on all orders on a regular basis.
  • Adheres to all packaging requirements per Production Work Order.
  • Capable of entering production in JDE and printing all necessary paperwork, to include closing out last skid of order.
  • Completes at least one Work Place Observation per month.
  • Place customer labels on end of cartons or gaylords in a straight and neat manner. Adhere to any and all identification sheets, tally sheets, bar codes as requested by the customer
  • Follow AIB Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP'S) per written procedures and practices
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safety by maintaining a clean and orderly work area
  • Maintain paperwork in order and not inter-mixed with orders that are completed or about to run.
  • Other duties as assigned.
