Job summary

Amcor in Kentucky is seeking a warehouse forklift operator responsible for moving materials, managing finished product flow, and ensuring accurate labeling and paperwork. You will operate pallet jacks, stage shipments, and support production by transporting goods between bays and the production department.

This role requires maintaining forklift certification, adhering to GMP and ISO requirements, following safety rules, and collaborating with team members to meet plant goals.

Qualifications

  • Forklift certification required and maintained.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Must follow GMP policies and safety rules.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Able to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Transport held ware from bays to sorting areas and return sorted product to bays.
  • Complete daily forklift inspections, including battery changes.
  • Inspect and properly package product for shipment to customers.
  • Communicate and collaborate with employees in a positive, constructive manner to support department and plant goals.
  • Promote a safe work environment by following all plant safety rules and reporting violations or unsafe practices to management.
  • Follow GMP policies, product safety requirements, and daily cleaning procedures.
  • Adhere to ISO and Quality Management System requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure production activities comply with all applicable regulations.
  • Maintain valid forklift certification.
  • Lift boxes from floor level to approximately 5 feet high.
  • Consistently lift boxes weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Distinguish slight variations in color.
  • Maintain accurate carton and skid counts for each assigned machine.
  • Accurately complete labels and required paperwork.
  • Move skids of finished product using a pallet jack.
  • Correctly sort held ware.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Follow all GMP procedures.
  • Work safely and follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Identify and report violations or unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel.
  • Wear required protective clothing, including hair net, uniform, steel-toe shoes, gloves, short-sleeved shirt, and earplugs.
  • Follow all department procedures and directives.

The starting rate of pay for this position is expected to be $19; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience between $19 and $23.50.
