Job summary

Peco-Foods in West Point, Mississippi, is hiring a production associate for the packaging line. You will inspect bags for defects, ensure correct bag counts, and place filled boxes on the conveyor.

You must maintain GMP hygiene, inspect products for natural and processing defects, and report any abnormal situations to your supervisor. Expect standing all day in a facility near 38°F.

Responsibilities

• Inspect bags for defects such as holes, misalignment, and bad dates.
• Place the filled box properly on the conveyor.
• Maintain high levels of personal hygiene and cleanliness per GMP policies.
• Physically inspect products for natural defects (bruises, blood spots).
• Inspect for processing defects (foreign material, out-of-spec products).
• Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to your supervisor.
• Abnormal situations include unauthorized personnel in restricted areas or suspected product adulteration.
• Equipment malfunctions that may affect product wholesomeness.
• Physical Demands: Working at temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Standing/walking 100% of the workday.

Job description

• Inspect the bag for defects – i.e. holes, bad dates, misalignment, etc.
• Know and understand the proper way to place bags in the box.
• Know and understand the correct bag counts for each item.
• Place the filled box properly on the conveyor.
• Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies.
• Physically inspect products for both natural occurring and processing defects.

o Natural occurring defects i.e. bruises and blood spots.

o Processing defects would be but not limited to foreign material and out of spec product.

Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.

Abnormal situation would be:

Unauthorized employees in restricted areas

Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring

Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake

Physical Demands:

• Working at temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit
• Standing / walking 100% of the workday
