Job summary

Peco-Foods in West Point, MS is seeking a packaging line worker to inspect bags for defects, correctly place bags in boxes, and manage box placement on the conveyor. The role requires vigilance against defects and strict adherence to GMP hygiene standards to ensure product quality.

Position involves inspecting products for natural and processing defects and reporting any anomalies to the supervisor. The job site operates on a production line with standing and temperature considerations specified

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform repetitive packaging tasks with accuracy.
• Ability to read and follow written production instructions.
• Strong attention to detail to identify defects in products.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the bag for defects such as holes, misalignment, or bad dates.
• Place filled bags properly in the box and ensure correct bag counts.
• Place the filled box on the conveyor for packing and shipment.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness per GMP policies.
• Physically inspect products for natural and processing defects and report suspicions to supervision.

Job description

• Inspect the bag for defects – i.e. holes, bad dates, misalignment, etc.
• Know and understand the proper way to place bags in the box.
• Know and understand the correct bag counts for each item.
• Place the filled box properly on the conveyor.
• Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies.
• Physically inspect products for both natural occurring and processing defects.

o Natural occurring defects i.e. bruises and blood spots.

o Processing defects would be but not limited to foreign material and out of spec product.

Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.

Abnormal situation would be:

Unauthorized employees in restricted areas

Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring

Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake

Physical Demands:

• Working at temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit
• Standing / walking 100% of the workday
