Job summary

Our Home is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Packer on the 2nd shift to join our growing snack manufacturing team in Illinois. You will pack products efficiently according to SOPs and customer requirements, supporting our fast-paced production line.

This 2nd shift runs Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years related experience, a safety mindset, basic math skills, and the ability to learn production processes while maintaining high quality.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years related experience and training preferred.
• Attention to detail and be a self-starter.
• Must be able to learn and understand the Production process.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods at required pace.
• Understanding of the food industry and safety standards.
• Basic Math Skills Required
• Excellent grammar, writing, and documentation skills.
• Teamwork and communication skills required

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs for the packer position.
• Adhere to safety procedures and programs.
• Clean and sanitize production areas and equipment, food safety, and GMPs.
• Serve as primary contact for packing protocols during shift when management is not present.

Our Home is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Packer on the 2nd shift. As a packer, you will be responsible for efficiently packing and packaging products according to company standards and customer requirements. This is a 2nd shift position with a typical shift working Monday - Thursday 4:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for having a working knowledge of all SOPs associated with the packer position
• Compliance required with safety procedures and programs
• Responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the production areas and supporting equipment, food safety, and following Good Manufacturing Practices protocols
• Serves as primary point of contact for packing protocols for the employees on their shift when management is not present
• Other responsibilities as assigned by Our Home management

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach, stand, bend, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell
• Occasionally lift/move 50 lbs.
• Specific vision includes the following: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes/airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration
• Forklift Operation required
• All employees are responsible for immediately reporting any food safety, food quality, safety issues, or plant security issues to management for appropriate action.
• All employees are responsible for upholding the principles of SQF Food Safety Code.
